Welcome to The Unapologetic Man Podcast. The only podcast that's all about self-improvement, confidence, success, women, and being a man without making any apologies for it. What is up guys? It's Mark Sing. Thank you so much for tuning in to another episode of the UMP. I do appreciate it. In this episode, we're going to do something a little bit different. I want to teach you a meditation that I use to basically get rid of anxiety completely. Now, in addition to some NLP processes, I was able to use this meditation on a daily basis to significantly reduce my own anxiety, which for me went into agoraphobia, which was basically the fear of going outside, definitely the fear of public speaking, definitely the fear of approaching girls to the point where I didn't feel that anxiety at all.
So this is a ridiculously potent method that if you do it every day for probably 30 days, maybe a couple months, if you really commit to it and do this meditation, it's extremely powerful. So what I suggest you do is I suggest you listen to this first, kind of get an understanding of how it works. And then what you can do is when you're ready to actually meditate and to put it into effect, you can listen to this again. At the end of this episode, I'm going to give you some good meditation music suggestions that you can listen to while you're meditating.
But once again, man, if you have any anxiety whatsoever, be it approach anxiety, general anxiety, stress, unable to sleep, anything like that, this is the method that will cure you. And it literally took me four months of continuous research and investigation to find this. So I strongly suggest you check this out. Hopefully it works for you as well as it worked for me. All right. So I'm sure you've heard of the famous saying, what you resist persists. That means when you try to fight something like approach anxiety, it will only get stronger.
Well, there's another saying that's equally profound. What you look at disappears. This points to the fact that there is no way to escape your fear and anxiety. That in fact, the only way to overcome it is to face it directly. So what I'm going to do here is I'm going to teach you how to watch, quote unquote, your anxiety and thus dissolve it completely. This is an extremely powerful meditation that I found through my investigations into Buddhism and Zen Buddhism. I found it from a master.
I don't know how to pronounce his name. You may have even heard of him. Thit Nach Han, I think is his name. He's a Buddhist enlightened master from Vietnam. And he was actually thrown out of his country during the Vietnam War because he was doing peaceful protests. And now I believe he lives in France. But anyway, this is a really powerful meditation. And what you want to do is when you actually do the meditation, it's important to be in a relaxed state with no distractions, no knocks on the door.
What I do when I meditate is I actually put a pillow down and I get a blanket and I kind of lay the blanket partially under the pillow. And I sit Indian style on the pillow. It's like a meditation pillow. And I lean back against my bed. Then I bring the blanket up kind of over my shoulders, like picture the Buddha with his robe on, but I do it with a blanket. And I listen to meditation music and I actually put a little bit of peppermint oil on my nose so that I can follow my breath more easily.
Turn off all the lights, make sure there's no distractions. Obviously my cell phone's on silent. Do not disturb. And I listened to some of the meditation music that I'm going to suggest to you. I actually made a really kick-ass playlist on Spotify. So if you're listening to this on Spotify, I'll give you the name of that playlist so you can check it out and start your own meditations. I've listened to, she's probably hundreds of meditation songs and the six or eight songs that I have in there are really, really good.
They've actually been scientifically proven to get your brain into alpha wavelengths. So it's this whole theory of music can actually give you different brain waves, I guess. But for me, it works really well. So check it out. I'll give that to you at the end of the meditation. All right. So let's start this meditation. Please get yourself in a comfortable position, like sitting Indian style on the floor, sitting in a chair with a straight back or even lying in your bed. But make sure you're not under the covers.
You don't want to be comfortable. You want to be relaxed and you want to make sure that you don't fall asleep. Okay. Dim the lights and make sure there'll be no distractions. Obviously. Now I want you to think thoughts that give you the biggest hit of anxiety. I know it's the last thing you want to do, but just trust me. This exercise has the power to completely cure you of things like approach anxiety, stress, and any kind of general chronic anxiety issues may have been dealing with for many years.
So once again, we're going to start this lesson by thinking about some toxic thoughts that give you anxiety. Thoughts like approaching girls, getting rejected, or maybe being in a room with hundreds of people laughing at you. Whatever it is, imagine it as clearly as possible until a decent sized portion of anxiety enters your psyche. Don't overdo it. Just give yourself enough anxiety that you can confidently deal with it without getting too, quote unquote, freaked out in the process. Okay. So now that you have a manageable amount of anxiety, I want you to simply feel it.
That's right. Just feel it completely as you can. I know it doesn't feel good. I know it's the last thing you want to feel right now, but just trust me, go into it and feel it directly. Where is it in your body? Does it have a color, a temperature, pay attention to where the anxiety is and what it feels like. Now we're going to simply watch the anxiety. We're going to pay attention to it. We're not going to fight it. We're not going to push it away.
We're not going to run from it. We're going to allow it to be there and feel it as completely as you can. Pay attention to its weird sensations. Watch it move. You might even hear that it has a sound. Now it's important not to be combative towards this energy. In fact, I want you to be kind towards it. Tell it, you're here and that's cool. You're welcome to stay for as long as you'd like. There's no issue. Okay. So as you're sitting there feeling it, observing it, try not to think about it.
Just be there. It's like watching molten lava in a volcano or a beautiful sunset. You're just there watching it. You're present. You don't have any thoughts about it. You just have pure attention. And that's the only thing you need in this exercise. If you begin thinking, which is natural, just gently guide your attention back to the anxious feeling. You can also play a game where you try to identify the deepest layers of the feeling. Going deeper and deeper into it as you explore its dimensions, you can feel the different layers.
You can feel where it ends, where it begins, the edges of it, the depth of it, the vibration of it, the temperature of it, the color of it. I want you to get intimately familiar with it. I want it to become your best friend. You can either stop the recording now as you continue to play with this meditation, or you can continue until the end of the track and return to your meditation immediately after. All right. I also want you to know that it's impossible for this feeling of anxiety, this feeling of fear to hurt you.
In fact, it's absolutely powerless against your conscious attention. You can't go crazy. You won't lose your mind. It's just a helpless phantom that relies on you being afraid of it to keep it alive. Now here comes the good part. When you observe the anxiety for long enough, it starts to release and shift into the most exhilarating feeling you may have experienced. It's like worrying about something for two years, then finally you get relief from it, like a million pounds lifted off your back. The ball of anxiety gets smaller and smaller until it's literally erased for good.
And all the energies that was trapped inside becomes happiness, enthusiasm, and freedom. This is the art of alchemy. This is literally what the art of alchemy refers to, turning lead into gold. And nothing more than your attention is required to do it. All right. So your homework is to spend 10 to 20 minutes a day watching the anxiety in this way. In that respect, it very much becomes a meditation. You might even want to listen to meditation music while doing it. So what I suggest is "Ultimate Ohm" by Jonathan Goldman.
It's an hour long track you can listen to for free on YouTube. Or if you want to follow my list, it's called "Mark's Meditation Playlist" and you can find that on Spotify. Mark's M-A-R-K apostrophe S "Meditation Playlist" and you can find it on Spotify. That "Ultimate Ohm" song is also on that playlist. And I believe that playlist is maybe it's like two hours long. There's a couple songs that are really long on there, but most of them are 10 minutes. And like I said, they get your brain waves into alpha.
All right. So what I want you to do is this meditation for a few weeks and you'll be shocked and dazzled at how quickly your anxiety and fears dissipate. Even if you just want to deal with approach anxiety, if you can imagine approaching a woman, let that feeling well up inside your chest or whatever it may be, then pay attention to it. Watch it. Like I said, what you look at disappears and you actually change that energy into positive energy. Okay. So remember, there's no way around your anxiety.
There is only a way through it. And those are the words that I read in a book when I was reading about Buddhism. He said, there is no way to escape your fear. You have to go through it. And he said, how do you go through it? You watch it. You pay attention to it. You be friendly towards it. You invite it in. You give it a place. Rather than fighting against it, you go with it. And when you go with it, it loses power over you.
Its power is there because it relies on you being afraid of it and resisting it to continue being there. You guys, this is extremely fucking powerful. I can't even tell you. I mean, like I said, I totally got over my agoraphobia. I got over my fear of speaking in front of crowds. I got over my fear of approach anxiety, my fear of women. I'm able now to take massive social pressure and it's all because of this meditation. And I do it every single day because I still have a little bit of anxiety that wells up inside of me.
It just runs in my family as it may run in yours or for whatever reason, our society is the most stressed out. It's ever been throughout all of human history. So we all have that stress and anxiety and worry and bullshit to deal with. So to me, it's a daily meditation. And in fact, I almost miss having that gigantic chunk of energy right there in my solar plexus. I mean, that thing was deep. It was potent. It was so easy to just watch that thing. And as I'd be meditating, I could feel it releasing.
And it was almost like a muscle releasing after being tight for 25 years. It was the most exhilarating feeling I ever experienced. And this, in addition to NLP, I did hire an NLP coach to help me get through my anxiety. And if you're interested in me helping you get through your anxiety, you can certainly hit me up, coachmarksing.com. But this and my NLP coach literally saved my life, dude. I was that close to losing it, man. It was not good. So check this out. If you have any questions, you can hit me up, coachmarksing at gmail.com.
But brother, if you do this meditation, you are going to have amazing results. And even if you don't suffer with huge anxiety, if you just have a little bit of stress, if you meditate and you simply focus on your inner energy field, if you focus on that vibration inside of you, it's in your chest, it's in your hands, it's in your feet. If you just focus on that, watch your breath and listen to that music that I suggested. It's going to give you a lot of benefits.
I'm going to do a podcast episode on meditation, but that's just a quick suggestion for you. Meditation completely changed my life. All right, guys. So that was transmutation through attention meditation. All right, guys, once again, thank you so much for listening and I will see you in the next podcast.
