It's men like you and me that are going to lead the way. It's men like you and me who others are looking to as an example. How is he reacting? How is he responding? Is he being responsible or is he bitching out? Is he being a man and stepping to the plate and being a leader? Is he being an alpha or is he being a fucking beta cuck? Welcome to the Unapologetic Man Podcast. The only podcast that's all about self-improvement, confidence, success, women, and being a man without making any apologies for it.
What is up, guys? Mark Sing here from the UMP. Thank you so much for tuning in to another episode. And before we get started, I just want to read this review that I got on iTunes on the iPhone podcast app. Mark, your podcasts are being handed down from my friends to my other friends and you're changing lives. Just wish more people listened to this podcast because this stuff is genius. But bro, that got past the goalie a little bit, dude, that fucking made my legs go out.
I fell on the ground and I even shed a tear from my non-shooting eye. Showed it to Marissa and I was like, look, that's what somebody said. She smacked me. She said, stop trying, you little bitch. Stop being a little pussy. You need a man up and don't get so emotional. Nah, jokes aside, man. I really, really do appreciate this. You're a champion. But here's what confuses me. Here's what I don't get. Here's what I'm losing sleep over. Here's what has put the pop in my giddy up and then quickly released it from the giddy up.
Because I'm no longer giddy upping because you didn't freaking email me, bro. What are you doing out there? What's going on with you? Send me an email. I'm going to send you some shit. Coachmarksingh at gmail.com. Nolan for shield. You're a champion. Really appreciate it, my brother. Thank you so much. So, bro, if you're feeling sad, if you're feeling depressed, if you're feeling bummed, I want to talk to you a little bit, okay? Right now, I can feel something in the air. We are at the outbreak of the coronavirus and I can feel there's a sadness in the air.
I can just feel it. I can feel a depression and I can definitely feel a fear. So, this podcast is to whip your ass into shape and we're going to talk about how we can deal with this. Now, if you're listening to this well after the corona outbreak has already been solved, and once again, I'm still sticking with my previous prediction. Six months. I'm thinking July or August. We're going to start getting out of this shit. I think like everything is going to be closed down for a couple months.
Then they're going to let like younger people kind of start venturing out. Keep social distancing and all that shit. But then after six months, I think we should have a handle on it. So, this is becoming one of the hardest times in our society and it's definitely one of the hardest things that I've ever gone through. Being 43 years old. As far as like a society kind of thing, such as like a war or a famine or obviously a pandemic. I've definitely had harder times in my life than I'm suffering through now.
But, dude, it fucking sucks, man. The gym just closed. Brazilian jiu-jitsu is closed. Everything is closing. So, we need to figure out how we're going to get through this. But what's most important is how we're going to get through this with our mental health and state. Okay? If you let this shit start dragging you down, if you start getting depressed, if you start getting sad, if you start lamenting and feeling sorry for yourself. Look, dude, I know a lot of you guys have bad situations out there.
But, bro, you cannot under any circumstance let this shit take you down. We don't have to fear the virus like getting us sick and taking us down. At least most of us don't. What we have to fear is our mental health, our mental state. So, this podcast is specifically designed to give you some tips, to give you some actionable items that you can deploy starting today, to keep yourself in a positive mental state, to keep yourself healthy, feeling good, and actually see this as an opportunity.
That's right. Reframe it from a crisis to an opportunity because the way it really works is in a crisis like this, there's always opportunities hiding inside. There's always joy to be had. There's always greatness, human greatness that's going to come out of this. Look what's happening in Italy. Everybody's singing out their windows. It's so fucking cool. That wouldn't have happened without this outbreak. Yes, I know this is terrible. I'm not trying to make light of the situation, nor am I trying to say that it's a good thing.
But I'm saying that good things can come of it, and good things for your life can come of it, too. Now, first of all, this isn't going to be every cloud has a silver lining speech, or I'm going to make lemons into lemonade podcast. It's about being a fucking man, okay, and taking responsibility for your actions when things get hard. Responsibility. Responding with ability to the situations that surround you. Brother, your character and your manhood is going to be put to the test over the next six months.
Are you going to set the standard for yourself that you'll springboard from after this crisis is over? Or are you going to collapse under the pressure and always know that you cracked when you look yourself in the mirror for the rest of your life? One of my favorite lines from the movie Black Hawk Down is, it's what you do right now that makes the difference. And that's true, man. This is our Black Hawk Down, okay? It's a little bit of an extreme example. But this is our crisis.
And my friend, it's what you do right now that makes the difference. All right, in a study, they found that adaptability is one of the biggest hallmarks of being happy. So they interviewed all these old people and they said, man, what was it that made you so happy? What made you so successful in life? And coincidentally, it was adaptability. So how can you adapt to this situation, okay? The thing to do is to use that brain matter between your two ears and think about the current situation you're in and how you can actually use it to your advantage, okay?
This is the power of having a brain. I know for me, I originally moved to Colorado in order to fly fish and to mountain bike. But I got into other things. I really got into weightlifting. I'm into Brazilian jiu-jitsu right now. And of course, just pulling girls like, no, tomorrow. But those things are put on hold. Not the pulling girls part because I have an awesome idea for that too, by the way. I have a really good way to make that an advantage for you. But the jiu-jitsu part's out.
The lifting weights is kind of out. I can do it at home. But I need to find other shit to do. So dude, I'm breaking out my fly fishing shit. I just got down my mountain bike, which was hanging up in the garage. And I'm tuning that bitch in. I'm getting my car dialed in to go into the woods, to go camping. I'm taking my family up into the woods this weekend. So we can make a big fire and just chill and make some hot dogs and have a good time.
So once again, it's adaptability. I'm adapting. I'd much rather be in BJJ right now because that's what I'm super into. But this situation has happened. So what can I do to adapt to it quickly? Because the quicker you adapt, the faster you're going to be happy. Okay, now, when it comes to mental health, it's absolutely critical that you exercise. Okay, so if you're feeling down, the best thing you can do is go for a bike ride, a run, go on a walk. At least where we stand now, nobody's preventing us from moving about in our neighborhoods and in our city.
But I don't know where you're at. I don't know what the rules are regarding that. But like you can totally go outside and get the sun on your face. You can go on a bike ride. You can take a long walk or do what I do is go into the woods and start exploring the woods. Start watching bushcraft videos. You know, how to make a fire when only you have a knife. How to procure water that isn't going to get you sick. Do navigation stuff. I mean, I got all kinds of plans for the kind of shit that I'm going to do out in the woods.
I'm going to go visit my wiki up. I'm going to tighten it up. I'm going to explore the hills around that area. I'm going to practice traps. I'm going to practice all this bushcraft stuff, how to make torches. There's all kinds of shit you can do out in the woods. Now, if you're totally locked inside your house and you have nowhere to go, like let's say you're on a quarantine. Okay, there's absolutely ways to do body weight workouts. There's push-ups, pull-ups, dips. There's all kinds of stuff you can do.
Burpees, running in place, stretching. You can get really into stretching, meditation. I mean, I always felt like, and I kind of hope this doesn't come to pass, but I always felt like I'd do pretty damn good in isolation because of adaptability. I would adapt to it and be like, okay, what can I do? What can I get done? How can I make this into advantage? How can I come out of isolation better, man, than I was when I went in? Well, a lot of us are getting a lot of free time.
So when you work on yourself, pretend like you're going into like a closed-off training center and you're just going to work on yourself, work on yourself, do all these things so that when you emerge, you're like that better dude. Have you ever seen that movie, The Count of Monte Cristo, where he goes into jail and then he trains how to sword fight so he can like take revenge on the dude that fucked him over and stole his woman? Well, that's kind of like you. You're in solitary isolation now.
Now, in my case, I can go outside. I can still go into the mountains. But even if I were, even if I do get isolated, it's all going to be just working on myself, working on my business even because I still have the internet. I can still do podcasts, you know, writing, getting shit dialed in. I'm going to clean up all my businesses. I'm going to clean up my website, get some better graphics on it because I'm going to have more time. I can't do as many things.
So I'm pushing all that time into my business. And then when the shit's over, my business is going to be that much better than if this didn't happen. And that again is adaptability. Okay. As I mentioned in a previous podcast, your health and your mental health and your immune system is really based on how you're eating. So you want to eat right. While it feels good to eat sugar right now because sugar is a comfort food, you want to try to eat as healthy as possible.
Fruits, veggies, meats, and lots of water. I'm not going to go too far into that, but it's really important. I know some things aren't accessible at the grocery store, but I talked to a dude today and I said, look, is there any issue with the creation side of the food market right now? And he said, no, there's just an extreme demand because everybody's stockpiling. And like I said in a couple of podcasts ago, man, you should stockpile to prepare for this. And I held nothing against people who are stockpiling.
It's human nature. It's what got us here to begin with, which was the five Ps, prior preparation prevents poor performance. That's how we evolved. So you can't really fault people for stocking up on food and even toilet paper. Like I said, who wants to slap a biscuit when there's no toilet paper? You throw your leg up on the sink and you launch one, then you got to take a shower. What a hassle, Hoff. So dude, we can only empathize with these people and you guys should be doing the same thing.
All right. So third, you got to trade in your typical hobbies for things that you can do alone. So let's say you're super into team sports. Well, maybe you can practice your sport alone. Practice the fundamentals, like the fundamental of the baseball swing. Here's some other hobbies that you can do without needing anybody else. You can go fishing, which I'm going to do. Mountain biking, which I'm going to do. Shooting hoops, kicking the soccer ball around in the backyard, shooting your gun, shooting your bow and arrow, both of which I plan to do.
Frisbee with a friend. You get to go over that six foot distance that they're making us stay to. Getting out into the woods, obviously, camping, hunting, bushcraft, et cetera. Working on home projects, building that model airplane you always wanted to build. Reading, meditating, fixing shit around the house that you've been putting off. Doing something sick to your car. That's something that I'm going to be doing. I'm going to be working on my car, doing some things I've been procrastinating. And for me, I'm also going to look for kick-ass deals on things that people are definitely going to part with.
So right now, I'm currently in the market for an ATV because I want to go into the woods with my ATV and just put all my shit on it and just go deep into the back country. So I'm going to be watching Craigslist like a hawk because it's times like these that you can find phenomenal deals. So those are definitely some good opportunities to get into stuff that maybe you weren't into before. You know, if you really look at this thing, I mean, it's bad, dude.
I don't want to underplay it, but it's not that bad. Can you imagine, like feel the feeling right now of society? It's pretty scary. It's pretty shitty. But dude, can you imagine what it was like during the Civil War? Like just imagine the Civil War, like, can you imagine what it was like when Iraq was about to be invaded by the United States? Like you're an Iraqi citizen. You're innocent. You're just working your job. You don't have anything to do with the military. You hate Saddam Hussein.
And then America's going to bomb your country. Just imagine the uncertainty there. I mean, we're feeling pretty fearful now. Multiply that by 10. So it could be a lot worse. And we also have to realize that, you know, we have it pretty good as Americans. And even if you're listening to this in a different country, Australia, Canada, Britain, Sweden, Ireland, wherever you're at, man, it's like you're probably in a first world country if you're hearing this. And we got it pretty damn good these days. So, you know, we have to look at the bright side as much as we can, because when we start dwelling on these things, like jujitsu was closed.
And I mean, dude, today, like I went to the gym and it was fucking closed. I was bummed, man. I really was. But I said, all right, it's time to deploy the home gym. Okay. I already bought my weights. I got my bench. I'm going to get after it. I already researched all the exercises I can do. So what did I do? I came home. I worked out. I had the garage open fresh air. I can dance around like a jackass to my music, which I can't do so much in the gym.
So I'm trying to figure out what's better about working out at home. All right. As the man, it's your responsibility to give yourself daily tasks. Okay. In World War II, I remember this in the movie. I don't remember what movie it was, but it was such a good point. In World War II, they showed this prison camp and the British soldiers were ordered to shave every day and take care of their kit and really take care of themselves. Exercise, shave your face. Don't let yourself get sullen and don't let yourself get depressed and definitely don't let yourself go because an idle mind is a dangerous mind.
So if you're in a funk, you need to give yourself daily tasks. Okay. I'm going to shave every day. I'm going to work out every day. I'm going to meditate every day and you commit to it. You commit to it. I'm going to do a really cool podcast about habits and how to create good habits coming up soon. But one of the ways to do it is to commit to it, to write it down. This is what I'm doing. This is where I'm doing it. And this is what time I'm doing it and give yourself those daily tasks is once again, an idle mind is a dangerous mind.
Another thing you can do, and I did this today because I was super bummed out that the gym closed. If you're in a funk, you can listen to music that reminds you of your childhood and that makes you feel good. We all have those kinds of songs that make us feel good. It reminds us when we were a kid or like in high school or middle school. And I made a playlist on my Spotify account where I listened to all these songs that make me feel good.
So I put that on while I was working out and I kind of started dancing around like a jackass, started shadow boxing, and I felt better because I was getting exercise. I was getting the heart pumping. I was getting fresh air into my lungs. So that's another thing. If you're trapped inside, dude, just try to get out. I don't know if you're on quarantine or what it is, but like try to get out and exercise, getting that heart pumping, getting the fresh air into your lungs, getting sun on your skin, like pop your shirt off, let the sun hit your skin, get out there.
You're going to feel a million times better. All right. So real quick, I want to tell you about the adjustable weights that I got. They're super dope. I highly suggest them. They're the Bowflex Select Tech 552s. And I highly suggest them. You can get them on Amazon Prime for, I think, was it 247, 147, something like that. And then I bought a bench and man, they were legit. I did a full back workout today. And it was excellent. It was almost as good as the back workout. I can get at the gym.
I did some pull-ups. I bought one of those pull-up bars that kind of sticks in your door. And then I was able to get a bunch of pull-ups in for my lats. So that was really, really successful. And I look forward to hitting tries and buys tomorrow. Okay. So even if you can't afford that, which I totally get, look up Athlean X on YouTube. Athlean X. It's all one word. The dude's name is Jeff Cavalier. If you're into fitness whatsoever, you've probably seen him. And he has some really cool body weight workouts that you can do.
Push-ups, pull-ups, dips, burpees, squats, things like that. And he'll really guide you through it. All right. So once again, guys in the crisis hides opportunity. So how can you benefit from this situation? How can you come out the other side a better man for it? Make this your Spartan-a-go-ge. The Spartan-a-go-ge is where they put kids into from the time they were born all the way until they were like 20 years old to train them, to train them up. So let's consider this your training. Now the question two is, can you get better with girls?
Oh, fuck yeah. And as I mentioned in a previous episode, I have a really good idea for how to pull girls to your house or how to pull dates easily online while you're doing this stuff. So I'm going to get into that. I'm actually about the, I'm actually thinking about creating a product for you guys, an affordable product, but a product nonetheless, because this is some like premier ass content that I just don't want to pop out on the podcast because it's so fucking good. Especially this one thing, man, that's just like retardedly successful.
Guarantee you would have girls come into your house. I was thinking about naming it pandemic pussy, something like that, but I have to think about it. See if I want to go ahead and create that product. We'll see. But dude, getting better and getting better at game, listen to podcasts like this one, even getting coaching, get the shit sorted out in your head. Like again, this is the Spartan to go gay, dude. This is where you go into that private area and just better yourself. And then when you emerge, when everybody starts kicking it again, I want you to be a different man.
I want you to be a better man. I want you to leverage this to your advantage. I'm actually thinking about shaving my head and just getting a really tight buzz cut and then just going into the go gay and just getting after it super hard, working out hard, getting hell into mountain biking, get back into bushcraft, just become just so much of a better man so that by the time summer comes around, I'm like coming out and I'm a champ, dude. I'm ready to rock. And I've taught you how to pull girls offline and get them straight to your house.
Man, it's going to be a fantastic thing. All right. So once again, you guys, it's what you do now that makes the difference. This is a historic event that we're living in. People are going to remember this and talk about it for generations to come. What are you going to tell your grandchildren? Are you going to tell them that you bitched out and got all sad and depressed and fat because you sat around playing video games and masturbated to porn the whole time that this epidemic was going on?
Or are you going to be like, dude, this was the time that I really worked on myself and this was the time that I came out and I was a better man because of it. This is the time that I helped somebody else. This is the time that I really connect with my parents or my grandparents or I told somebody that I love them. This is the time that I forgave somebody and became friends again with somebody who I alienated unjustifiably in the past. This is the time that I was a man and I went towards my goals, towards what I'm trying to achieve, which obviously is to become a better man, especially if you're still listening to this about 20 minutes in.
Your goal is to become a better man. Are you going towards that? Are you running away from it? Are you going to let fear get you down? Fear, false evidence that appears real. Your fear of what's going to happen. Leverage that. Springboard off of it. Become a better man. Use this to your advantage because I guarantee you there are advantages in your situation. If you're feeling depressed, feeling sad, if you're feeling bombed, it's your responsibility to make yourself feel better because it's men like you and me that are going to lead the way.
It's men like you and me who others are looking to as an example. How is he reacting? How is he responding? Is he being responsible or is he bitching out? Is he being a man and stepping to the plate and being a leader? Is he being an alpha or is he being a fucking beta cuck? No, no, no, no, no. We are alphas. We are unapologetic for it and we are going to tackle this like fucking alphas and we're going to get through this together because you and I are fighting side by side as brothers in the trenches against this virus and we are going to fuck it up.
All right, guys. I thank you so much for listening. Stay in the fight. Never fucking quit. Keep getting after it and become the best man you can be and I will see you in the next podcast.
