Welcome to the Unapologetic Man Podcast. The only podcast that's all about self-improvement, confidence, success, money, women, and being a fucking man without making any apologies for it. I'm your host, Mark Singh. And I'm John Anthony. And today we are going to talk about how to deal with your family when you're going home for Christmas. Right now it's what, December 20th, so in five days, all of us guys, we're all going to have to deal with our annoying moms, dads, brothers, and in-laws, and whoever else it might be.
So let's go ahead and talk a little bit about that. Initially, I know this is called the Unapologetic Man Podcast, but I want to apologize. Why do I want to apologize? Because of this freaking microphone right here. I swear to God, in 2003, I must have ran over a microphone on the freeway, and now the microphone gods are coming back to me to punish me, because I have the worst microphone mojo ever. First of all, this thing, it gets really loud and really quiet. I wasn't even moving to and from the microphone.
It just would change volume on me. So that sucked. So then I bought the same damn microphone as Mr. John Anthony. And that sounded like shit too. And I couldn't get it dialed in. I've been trying to get it dialed in since our last podcast, which was terrible. Thank you, John, for fixing that in Adobe Premiere, by the way. Of course, dude. It sounded terrible. You have to offer a sacrifice now, man. You have to sacrifice your firstborn child to the fucking microphone gods, or else they'll hate you forever.
Whatever it takes, bro. I'll sacrifice my buddy, John Anthony. How about that? No. So anyway, I'm hoping that I messed with the settings on this guy, and we'll hope it doesn't do that volume thing again. So we'll see how it goes. But I'm not giving up. I got the never quit attitude. I'm going to keep going until I get this thing fixed and sounding like a champ. Plus, I'm moving into my new place here in the next few weeks, and it's going to be a designated sound studio with no echoing and perfect microphones, and everything's going to be perfect.
All right. So we're all going home, and sometimes our parents can be pretty damn annoying. They're like, what are you doing? They want us to be a certain way. They want you to live how they want you to live. But you're not living how they want you to live, are you? You're doing what you want to do. You're getting after it. You're becoming a better man. And worst of all, you're learning how to attract women. What a piece of shit you are. And what if you roll home with this hog girl in your arm?
What's going to happen then? What's your mom going to say then? What's your grandpa going to do? Your uncle. All these assholes are judging you. Now, the reason we're talking about this is because I had several different phone clients talk to me and say, man, I'm dreading going home. My parents don't approve of me. My parents are always telling me what to do. They hate the fact that I'm getting after it. They want me to live a mundane lifestyle like they do. And I said, you know what, man?
Your parents are going to be the most difficult people to please in your entire life. And oftentimes, they won't accept you for who you are. And it's really hard for us because we grow up wanting our parents' approval, don't we? We want them to be proud of us. We want them to support us. But oftentimes, they don't. And especially when you're into this self-help kind of stuff. Oftentimes, it's a little bit threatening, especially to other members of your family like your brother, your sister, your cousins.
You know, you show up with a hot girl in your arm. They're going to be like, what's going on? What's going on with this guy? What are you doing? You're learning how to get girls? Man, you're just a piece of shit. You're creepy, right? Like what my uncle said to me a couple weeks ago. So what I always say is if somebody isn't supporting what you're doing, even your parents, then ignore what the hell they want from you and follow your own lead. That's what I always say.
Oftentimes, people are pushed into becoming a doctor or a lawyer or pushed into becoming what their parents want them to become. I think you should throw that away, let it go, and be who you want to be and follow your own lead. And don't be so damn dependent on what they think of you because, look, no matter what you do, if they're not accepting you now, unless you go against who you are naturally, they're probably never going to accept you anyway. So let it go, man.
And when you go home, you just got to play that role. And listen, John, you're going home tomorrow, right? Yeah. I'm going home tomorrow too. I got to play the role a little bit. I got to tone it back a little bit because there are certain things about my mom and my stepdad and my family. They have expectations of me. And if they knew kind of what was really going on in my life, the way I really live, they might be, A, threatened by that, worried about me.
They might be stressed out because I'm taking lots of risks and I'm living the life on my terms. So I'm going to simply lie to them about it and say, oh, yeah, you know, I'm just just kind of cruising. I'm in cruise control and things are going great and everything's perfect. So this is a big challenge that we're all about to go into, especially since we're so hardcore into the self-development thing. But you got to look at it as a challenge and you got to curtail yourself a little bit so you don't create drama.
And it's going to happen for all of us. Yeah. Yeah. And you know what's funny is as you go down this journey of self-improvement and just, you know, you become a killer who just kills it at life. You become a wolf and not a sheep. You begin to distinguish between the two types of people out there in the world, the wolves and the sheep. And most people are fucking sheep. They will just passively do whatever comes to them, whatever job seems to be like the best for them.
They'll just passively accept it, passively go with the flow with, you know, oh, this girl's showing some interest in me. And even though I don't like her that much, you know, I'll settle, whatever. Most people are fucking sheep. And I hate to say it, but when you go home to your family, a lot of them are going to be sheep too. And you know what sheep don't like seeing is someone who was born a sheep but became a wolf. People do not like seeing people that have the same, you know, background, same genetic potential, same world as they do.
But then they say, fuck that shit and then turn into a fucking wolf. People don't like that. Yeah. So you guys are going to encounter a lot of resistance from your family. I know that I have. And just like Mark said, just like you said, man, you know, try to avoid the topics that you know they'll get offended over. Right. You know, so like, for example, I, you know, when people ask me what I do, it's funny because like some people say, oh, I'm a pickup artist.
But I think that's kind of strange because I'm, I view myself more as just like a life coach almost because I talk about women. We talk about money. We talk about, you know, health and fitness and everything. But, you know, regardless, that's, that's how some people view me. Right. It's kind of funny because when I direct people to my blog, they will see the, you know, thousands of things I've said that are, that are just, you know, great and awesome and like cool. And then they'll hone in on the one thing that they don't like and that's all they can see.
And it's going to be the same too sometimes going home, right? You could be killing it in your life. You could be fucking, you know, having an incredible job and incredible girlfriend, this and that. But, you know, if, if there's one little thing that your parents don't like, your family doesn't agree with, then it's going to be hard for them to, to deal with you. So you do need to just kind of like tone it down a bit sometimes and play that role. And who knows, I mean, maybe your parents are really, really fucking cool and they're, they're fine with you, you know, learning game.
But, you know, maybe, maybe they're not. Most likely they're not, you know, so, so keep that in mind, guys. Sometimes you do have to tone it down a little bit depending on who you're going to be around. You know, if you're a wolf, you've got to kind of put on the sheep's clothing a little bit and act like you're, you know, you can relate to them. So, um, as an example, I went on a date with a girl a couple days ago and the whole time she, she was very pretty.
So I was like, yeah, I'll just go on a date with you. And the whole time, like she was just bringing that stuff up. There was total sheep mentality. Like she was talking about how like, you know, oh yeah, like I, she, I have this problem with like, I have to pay a traffic ticket or whatever and this and that. And I was just like, just make more money, bitch. Like what the, it's like, it's so far out of my reality that someone's like stuck in a certain wage that they can't get out of.
And, um, you know, the, that's, that's basically like the sheep and the wolf talking. The sheep is like, me, me, me, I have this problem with, I don't get tipped enough and I can't pay the traffic ticket. The, the wolf is just like, bitch, just make a business and start your own fucking income, you know? And sometimes there's that dissonance between the wolf and the sheep. So you gotta, you guys gotta keep that in mind. Keep that in mind who you're talking to and if they can resonate with what you're saying or not.
And if they can't, then sometimes you have to tone it down and just be like, oh yeah, that sucks, man. I would hate not being able to pay for a traffic ticket that I got. But anyways, dah, dah, dah. You know, so you just have to learn to kind of sometimes say the things that they just want to hear, just empathize with them and just, just move forward after that. In Japan, there's a term, basically it's translated as the nail that is sticking out always gets hammered in.
And so in Japan, particularly, I lived there for four years, people are very highly pressured to conform. And that's what that means. If you're a non-conformist, meaning a nail that's sticking out of the wood, you're going to get hammered back in. And it's very typical in your family that your family wants you to be exactly like they are because it justifies how they view life. And it justifies their attitudes about life when you live like they do. But when you're a go-getter, because like you said, oftentimes people are sheep and they're just kind of living life in a way where they want it to be comfortable and non-risky.
But you're listening to this podcast probably because you have that wolf inside you and you take risks and you're a guy who lives like an alpha, which is a leader, somebody who takes chances and risks it and probably has more stress than most people do, but is in essence a champion. So when you go home and they see that, they're going to try to hammer you back into the wood, as the old Japanese saying goes. And again, you need to resist that because you are that wolf.
And actually, there's another term. There's sheep and there's wolves, and the wolves are predatory on the sheep. And there's something called the sheep dog, which is the dog that protects the sheep from the wolf. And Tim Kennedy, he's an army ranger. He has this whole concept called the sheep dog, and it's about like being a protector of those people around you. And I like to think of myself as the sheep dog. I protect my friends. I protect my girlfriend. And it's one of the philosophies about why you should carry a gun, a concealed carry, because when the wolf comes, like a mass shooting situation, you're the sheep dog who protects all the sheep who can't protect themselves.
So when the sheep dog comes into the mix, they want him to be a sheep. They don't like that you're protecting them. They don't like that you're getting after it. They don't like that you're a champion. So they're going to try to hit that nail back in. And the best way to do it, in my opinion, this is what I'm going to do, is I'm just not going to talk too much about what I'm doing. You know what I'm saying? I'm not going to talk about how my diet is, how I'm like 8% body fat now, and I'm ripped, and I'm getting after it five days a week.
I'm not going to talk about how much money I'm making, how I'm coaching champions like you guys on the phone, and doing what I love to do, what I've always dreamed of doing, rather than working a corporate job that I hate and being in a cubicle that's basically a prison inside a building. I'm waking up when I want to wake up. I do what I want to do. And while that takes a lot of discipline, hard work, and perseverance, I'm very proud of who I am.
But I don't expect my mom and my stepdad – don't even get me started on my stepdad, dude. Like I will go on a rant for two hours. I don't expect them to understand. And in my mom's case, I absolutely love my mom. She's the most amazing woman in the world. But she stresses out all the time. So being it that I'm an entrepreneur and being it that I have my own businesses, they don't always go so great. But when my mom calls on the phone, it's always like, yeah, mom, things are wonderful, things are awesome, things are amazing.
I never tell her anything bad. And while that's kind of lying, it's lying for her best interest because she's going to lose sleep at night if she knows that, for example, I just broke my toe really bad in jiu-jitsu, right? I was rolling with a guy, totally broke my toe. Dude, it was creepy looking. It was like – it almost came out of the skin and it was all like wrinkly right here and like this big old ridge. And I was like looking down and I was like, uh-oh, that doesn't look too good.
And so I talked to my mom the next day and she's like, how are you doing? I'm like, doing great. Everything is wonderful. I'm not like, oh, I broke my toe and it almost came out of the skin because then she'd be like, did you go to the doctor? And I would have been like, nah, like doctor is not going to tell me to do anything. They're just going to tell me to stay off of it. Rest and da-da-da. Rest and da-da-da and then $1,000 later, you're in the same position.
So there are certain things you need to not tell your family about. There are certain things you don't want to bring up and here's a big one, you guys. When you're in self-development, especially when you're making progress, you're going to want to give advice. Oh, yes. This is huge. You're going to want to pull your brother aside and be like, bro, come over here. I noticed you're getting down on that apple pie a little bit. I noticed you're getting down on that ice cream. Hey, you're getting a little chubby there, buddy.
You're looking a little fat. Let's go ahead and tone it back because, dude, you know what I learned, man? Sugar is poison. Sugar messes you up. It's going to kill you early, bro. Stop with the sugar. You're looking a little fat. Do you know what your brother is going to say to you? He is going to say – Fuck you, man. Exactly. He's going to say, screw you. You're a dick. You're arrogant. Your ego has gotten the best of you. What? You think you're better than us now?
What? You think you got some muscle? You got a good girlfriend? You think you're better than everybody? Dude, get over yourself, man. Get over yourself. Dude, don't say any of that stuff, man. The best thing you can do, and this is in life in general, is just prove yourself by being yourself. And by being yourself, you're being happy and fulfilled. So when I'm going to – we're doing brunch on Sunday with the whole family, and I'm just going to be positive, outgoing, and say as little about my health, my lifestyle, and my business as possible and just say I'm doing great and have a big smile on my face.
And they'll be able to see it in me that I'm doing good. I don't need to brag about it. I don't need to give unsolicited advice. And oftentimes when you do that, when you don't give unsolicited advice, people will come up to you and ask you for that advice. And now this is kind of a different – a little bit of a different tangent. But when somebody asks you for advice, when you really start succeeding, people are going to hit you up and be like, dude, how do you get girls?
Dude, how are you making money online? Here's my advice for that. As much as you want to give them advice right there and then, as much as you want to help, and believe me, I know how it feels to want to help, you don't want to give it to them initially because they won't appreciate it. I have given so many of my products to friends who are like, bro, help me get girls. I'm like, oh, yeah, man. Here's my product. Check it out. They don't read it.
Here's my DVD set. They don't watch it. Come out with us on Thursday, dude. I will coach you. It's $800 a night, but for you it's free. I will come out. Nah, bro, I'm busy. I'm good to go. Dude, you were just telling me yesterday you want to learn how to get girls. What's up with that? So what I always do is I say, nah, man, you're not interested. You're good. No, no, dude, I really want to learn. Nah, bro, you're good. You're good. Ask me later.
I make them ask me six times before I give them advice. It's funny because yesterday someone texted me and they're going through a breakup right now. And so they know I'm the pickup guy. I'm the fucking pickup artist with my magic pickup tricks. And so he texted me and I was like, what's up, man? And he's like, what's up, man? I'm feeling all right. And he said, like, he's going to the gym now, like, like a bunch of times. And he said, because I found out that when you're jacked, that's the only way to make women think you're, you're not replaceable is what he said.
And I wanted to be like, actually, women care a lot more about your personality and like, da, da, da, da, da, da, right? But I was like, you know, I was like, you know, no, he didn't ask for my advice. He didn't ask for it. He's just telling me what he thinks. And so I was like, yeah, you know, yeah, you're right. Like, being jacked definitely helps. I found myself, which is true. It does. But you never want to give unsolicited advice, guys, because first of all, you're going to devalue the advice that you give, right?
You know, just by the law of supply and demand, if you're always giving everyone fucking advice, first of all, they don't want to hear it. So they won't listen and they'll become stubborn. Second of all, you know, you're casting pearls before swine, right? So there's this old saying that says, don't cast pearls before swine. And basically, again, it just means you never want to give these gems of wisdom to the unwashed masses that aren't going to be able to understand them or use them. And, you know, oftentimes there's a book called The Kabbalion, I think that's back there on my on my bookshelf somewhere that says, basically, when the student is ready, the master will appear.
And another really good thing they say, too, is basically save the milk for babes. And something else for men, right? But basically, the idea is that, like, there's some people in the world that just aren't ready to hear a certain idea. They're not ready to hear a certain piece of advice. And you don't want to give it to them unless they're ready. And they'll let you know that they're ready because they'll reach out to you and actually ask you and they'll be taking action and you'll see it.
Right. And so what you want to do, again, is, you know, be the sheepdog. I like that analogy, be the sheepdog that in many ways is like almost identical to the wolf, except your intention is just a good intention. Right. That's really the only difference. The wolf and the sheepdog like that. Yeah. They both they both want to kill it at life. They both want success. They want to be that the strong pack leaders, the alpha males. But the wolf, the wolf is trying to fuck the sheep up.
The shepherd, the sheepdog, he's kind of guiding the sheep and like using his power for their best interests. Right. And when you become that man who does that, you know, people will seek you out for advice. You know, I mean, I've had people. It's funny because like when I first started working out, you know, there was a lot of resistance back way back when when I was like 16 or something, when I first started lifting weights, you know, and now, like, you know, basically years later that I'm like jacked and like have an e-book with me on the cover and, you know, everyone fucking asked me for advice now.
And even sometimes, too, it blows my mind because like I'll have people that they they they won't ask me for advice. And I'm just like, dude, like, you know, I've sold like like six figures worth of products online and I'm like a fitness e-book model. Like, like, like, just ask me, bro. Like, what? You know, that's like if I was like getting dinner with like Warren Buffett and the entire time I never even asked him like, so like, can you give me any advice on investing?
Like, you're worth like one hundred billion dollars. Like, maybe I should ask, you know, so it's just kind of funny how you'll see that like people, they don't want advice sometimes. And it's the same with your family. You know, people are content in their own worlds. They don't want to, you know, they don't want to fucking move up. And, you know, people in many ways are like are like a plant. So if a plant is in this, you know, arid desert and it's barely surviving and you tell the plant, hey, can I can I pick you up?
And it'll be painful at first to pull you out of the ground. But I'll pick you up and put you in this other soil with a lot of water, a lot of nutrients, and you'll grow 10 times the size you could be when when I put you over here. And they'll say, oh, no, no, no, but it would be painful, though. I don't want to get up out and have to go through that. Right. And that's what people are like, you know, and sometimes, unfortunately, they don't change unless it's through massive trauma, massive heartbreak, massive things getting fucked up and going wrong.
Yeah. You know, so you've got to bide your time and realize that, you know, this this used to be hard for me to understand because I always I'm going to help people. Right. I'm not that sheepdog by by instinct. I just want to help people want to, you know, share the things I've learned. But you have to realize that one well-placed piece of advice is a thousand times more effective than all of the the advice you scatter at someone when they're not ready for it. So really keep that in mind.
Ram Dass, he's a he's a spiritual leader. He said, if you think you're so enlightened, go and spend a week with your family. Yeah, I like that. Right. So your family is going to piss in your river, bro. They're going to walk up to your river, throw their leg up on a branch, whip out their cock and start pissing in your river, dude. All over your face, just everywhere. They might even turn around and take a big old dump in your river. All right. Yes. And so the reason they're able to do that is a because of history.
There's a lot of it's called your pain body. And what it is, it's the accumulation of pain that you have inside of you. This concept was created by Eckhart Tolle and your your brothers. I mean, my brother, bro, he can set off my pain body like that one word and I'm irritated. My stepdad, just looking at the dude pisses me off. Right. Because of all the history we have. So you got to go into it conscious. OK, these people are going to piss in my river just because of who they are.
And a lot of times we want approval. I mentioned this in the beginning. We want approval from our parents. It's a very natural thing. But for the most of us, they don't. They don't approve of you. They don't approve of you. So then what do you do? Do you try to force it on them? But but I want to get money because it's going to make me better. No, no, no. You just need to live like the Bible says. You just need to calm down and live a meager life.
You know, you don't want to lay a fortune for yourself on earth where moss and rust consume. And, you know, they're going to quote the Bible and they're going to whatever, quote the Bhagavad Gita, whatever the hell it is in your situation is. Let it go. The only person's approval that you need is yourself and me. You need my approval. Absolutely. And, dude, I approve of you. You are a champion because you're listening to this podcast. You are getting after it. You are a legend. So, dude, literally, though, as long as you approve of yourself, it doesn't matter if your parents approve of you.
Now, a lot of guys are afraid of rejection by girls. Why are they afraid of being rejected by a girl? Because they're afraid of not getting her approval. When you're seeking other people's approval and you're not going to want to hear this, but I'm just being honest with you, bro. When you're seeking people's approval, it's because you're in your feminine energy. Feminine energy wants to be desired and it wants to be approved of. Masculine energy does not care about being desired or approved of. It just wants to hunt and conquer, right?
So when you go home and you're in your masculine energy, you're like, yeah, dude, I'm getting after it. You don't need to prove it to anybody. And if somebody starts, dude, like, what, you think you're ripped now? And just be like, ah, whatever, man. Like, I just enjoy working out, you know, take it easy over there. So how are you doing, man? How are you doing? And just be positive. Give those positive vibes. As we always say, you catch more bees with honey or is it flies with honey?
Both. I think, yeah. Is it bees? I think it's flies. Is it flies? Bees makes more sense, but I think it's flies. You catch more flies with honey. Yeah. Well, you catch more flies with shit too, but let's not use that analogy. So anyway, so just be cool, man. Just go over there and just drop charisma because you want to be the bigger man. The sheepdog is the bigger man in these situations. Don't stoop to the level of your brother or your cousin or your stepdad or your uncle.
Don't go there. And now I'm not only talking to you guys on this podcast. I'm talking to myself because, like I said, my uncle especially, that dude, like, gets tens of his friends and they all hold each other's legs up as they shit in my river. So it's going to take a lot of, like, the Zen master inside of me to not get pissed off when I talk to the dude. But you know what? Just let it go because you're a champion. You're getting after it.
I approve of myself and I'm a hunter. I'm not looking for approval from these people. They're sheep. I mean, I hate to, like, look down on them in that way, but let's be honest. Like, they're not that important, you know? As long as I give them my love and I help them when they need help. And if they do ask me for advice, I'll give it to them after they do the six steps so I know they're actually serious. But really, it's like their opinion, it's just an imposter.
It's just an illusion. It doesn't matter. What matters is my opinion of myself because that's going to be reflected not only in my body language but also the results that I'm achieving in my life. Exactly, yeah. And yeah, I mean, this is, like, everything we say, we're saying it to ourselves too, guys. Like, this is, we're not above this shit. Like, you know, I still get mad sometimes when I go home. My, uh... I know. Didn't I hear you on the phone the other day? You're like, God, Dad!
Stop bothering me! It's on a phase, Dad! Go, hi, Dad! Get out of my room, guys! Yeah. Um... No, yeah. I mean, uh, it's all, uh... It's all, guys. You just gotta, like, just fucking roll with it, man, you know? And what's funny, too, is, like, when, uh, people give you shit, if you can just, like, like, roll with it and not care, it actually makes you, like, look really fucking cool. Yeah. And it makes them look like a fucking retard because they're, like, Man, I don't like you, man.
And you're just, like, ha-ha, yeah. That's cool. You just don't even care, you know? Um, so, you know, sometimes, yeah, like, there's shit that people will do sometimes that it, like, really triggers me. Um, yeah, but you just gotta, like, you gotta, you know, fucking not care and move on. That's fundamentally what it comes down to. Just, like, if you think of, like, a bull, like a charging bull, like a charging fucking, you know, 4,000-pound bull, and, you know, and, like, a cow comes up and it's, like, fuck you, right, or something, and the bull's not gonna be, like, what?
What did you say? No, it's just, like, it does not give a fuck. It's just, like, straight forward. That's, like, masculine energy, right? And, or another one is, um, if you're, like, walking, you know, you're, like, like, there's this one video I like, actually, that I saw recently by, uh, Tyler, our buddy Toiler, Aristi Toiler, and it's called, um, Power Through the River to the Mountain of Gold, something like that. And he talks about how, um, sometimes, like, you know, there's this giant mountain of gold on the other side of the river, and you're trudging through the river and getting through that shit, and, uh, you know, there's, there's little fucktards that, like, bite at your, your heels, right?
Piranhas. And, uh, you know, if you stop and you try to pick them off and deal with them, then what does that say to the other, uh, the other fucktards, the other piranhas, right? Fucktards! Unite! Get them! They all, once they see you're gonna deal with that shit, they all come at you, right? And that's why, like, you know, I used to respond to a lot of fucktards in my comment section that are just trolling, uh, but now I just, I'm like, ah, yeah, whatever, I just ignore it and move on, and you gotta do that, guys, like, in your own life, like, just be, be so good and be so committed that they can't ignore you, and your results speak for themselves, right?
So one thing I'm really looking forward to is, uh, when I buy a Lamborghini, and that's just gonna be, like, my go-to, because it's like, you know, if someone, if someone gives me shit about, like, what I do for a living, I'm like, I'll just be like, oh, that's cool, what car do you drive? Oh, that one? This is my right here, bitch, it's like, someone's doing something wrong, I don't know if it's me or you, but I think it might be you, you know, um, so, having, having those tangible results and getting to that point where you have those tangible results that you can kind of just, like, point to and be like, yeah, cool, whatever, um, that's, that's pretty powerful, too, but it takes a while to get there, but just stay the course and you'll get there, you know?
It's so ridiculously easy to be unaffected when somebody you don't know is giving you a shit, like a girl at the club, it's, it's like, please, dude, I'm completely, I'm entertained by what you're saying to me, but something about your family, man, when they say it, if you can be unaffected when they say it, that's like master level, uh, you know, game on, you are the champion, you have reached the pinnacle of success. Eckhart Tolle game, that's our next product. Yeah, Eckhart Tolle game. Um, if, if your brother could be like, man, when are you going to get a job, a real job, right?
I always get that. When are you going to get a real job or a job? Like I want one. I know what they're going to say about these. They're going to be like, you're 41 years old and you went and got tattoos. What do you think? You're like 23. Oh, tell me about it. I got this one on my fucking hand right here, bro. I got so much shit for that. Like the ideal, the ideal thing will be for me to be like, unaffected, totally unaffected. Just laugh it off.
But if I'm like, dude, dude, what are you talking about? Like these, these tattoos are cool, man. I spent a lot of money on these that you're failing the test. They're just shit testing you, dude. Yeah. I was going to, do you treat it like a shit test? Yeah. You just, yeah. Yeah. I'm going to, I'm going to treat it like a shit test. Yeah. That's what you guys will find too. It's kind of funny. Like there's parallels between game and like, cause game like applies to everyone.
It's not just like women. It's like, you know, like, it's like you treat it as a shit test. Like if your parents were like, like, you know, like, I don't know something about your tattoo or whatever, this fucker right here. I got a lot of religious family members that are not fans of tattoos, gotta say. So this, this thing really set them off a lot. And, you know, I'll just make a joke about how like, oh yeah, I had to get it when I joined the Illuminati.
It was mandatory or something stupid like that. And just like, you know, ignore it. And if they get really upset, then, then fuck them. Like they're, they're just being retards. Just ignore them and move on. Treat it like a shit test. It's their issue, man. Yeah. But I like how you agree with it and then amplify it. Right. Yeah. Like, yeah, I joined the Illuminati. That's really good. I got to think of a good one, man. Yeah. It depends on what they say. Why'd you get those fucking tattoos?
Like, well, I just, I wanted to, cause the next ones I'm going to get are going to be on my face. So I just want to kind of see what it felt like first and test it out. That's a good one. That's a good one. I'm going to get some face and neck tattoos. Next one's a neck tattoo. Yeah. Yeah. Teardrops. I got to look cool cause I'm going to jail pretty soon. Cause you know, I'm, I'm a criminal now. Yeah. I quit. Cause like you said, dude, I don't have a corporate job.
So what could he possibly be doing with this? Yeah, exactly. He must be selling drugs and pimping girls out. There's no such thing as having a business and living a life on your own terms. I'm curious to know what you guys will go through. What, uh, what kind of comments your, your dad, your mom, your brothers and sisters are going to say to you, leave it in the comment section. Yeah. Yeah. Tell it, tell us what they're going to say, man. Cause I'm super curious about that.
Like, Oh, you're doing this, you're doing that. And they just, it's because they're insecure about themselves. Like when you're succeeding, you're shining a light on their lives. So when you walk in and you're a champ and you're ripped, and let's say you have a cute girl on your arm, bro, like that's a gigantic floodlight on their own life. And what are they going to want to do? They're going to want to knock you down so that they can feel good about themselves. And that's all it is.
Whenever they're doing that to you, you have to realize it's their issue. Like just because they're your parents and your family members, it doesn't mean they're right. It doesn't mean that they have some internal knowledge that you're not privy to. No, they're just people, just like the haters at the clubs that try to put you down. They're just haters. So treat it as such, treat it as a compliment. That's a critical thing too, that I want to just touch upon real quick. So from an archetypal perspective, if you think that your, your father or your mother is always right, that's a sign that you're still psychologically and archetypally, you're a juvenile because that's why there's this, this recurring theme that, you know, Jordan Peterson and Joseph Campbell talk about throughout history where you first have to basically almost like kill the father, right?
Or, or, or rebel against the father. There's this theme of rebellion and going out and doing your own thing despite what the authorities say, but then eventually coming back and then rescuing your dead father from the, the underbelly or from the underworld, right? The underbelly of the whale, the underworld. The whale. Yeah. Right. Well, yeah. And it's this theme of like, you know, if you still are so dependent on your parents for validation that you, you, you know, you're, you're, uh, going to change your own life to suit them.
That means you need to rebel and, and find your own way. And then eventually maybe you'll come back and you'll come to an agreement. But you know, I had to do that shit. I dropped out of college. My parents weren't fucking happy about that. I dropped out of college to be a master pickup artist. Like they don't fucking like that shit, but you know, I'm like, guys, sorry. Like I'm just doing what I'm fucking doing. I think it's fun. I think it's a good skill to have.
I think it's great. I like teaching and coaching other guys do the same. So fuck you. I'm just doing it, you know, and now I'm going to see them tomorrow. I'm going to have fun and, and, you know, have a good time and stuff. So, you know, just, uh, they will respect you when you, when you go down your own path, people will respect you when you go down your own path, bro. So my mom, uh, that, by the way, I love that. What you just said, I think that was the most profound thing in this entire podcast.
Uh, what you just said right there that you're still, you're still stuck in, you know, the Oedipus stage or whatever it might be. But a real quick story, you got a girl coming over, right? In six minutes. Yeah. She left like recently. So I've, I've been checking her texts, but I'll tell you when she gets here. Are you going to wear that coat when you, when you, when you meet her at the door? Yes. Come on in my little babushka. Hello. It's just, she'll be like, oh, what the fuck?
She'll like run, run the fuck out. The Illuminati. Yeah, I know. That candles laid. The Illuminati. She's going to get sacrificed to like a goat or something. Some crazy shit. I'm going to show her this afterwards too. And be like, yeah, we've, we mentioned you on the podcast. So dude, so my mom, my mom's from Holland and she does this thing where like our whole lives, my brother's named Michael and she would get mad at us and she would be like, Hey, Michael, like that, or Hey, Marcus, you know?
So my brother, I think he'd be okay. Okay. Let's just, I'm not going to say the specifics cause I don't know if he'd be okay with this, but he had a certain kind of surgery that my mom did not approve of. And he told her, yeah, he told her, no, no, no, no. Not like, oh shit. Now I've buried myself even deeper. Okay. So anyway, it's not like that. Okay. Okay. Anyway, so he tells my mom, he's like, mom. No, not like, no, no, not like that.
Not like a sex chain surgery. Yeah. But a surgery where you can't a father, a sire. Yes. That's what I thought of. Yeah. So he tells my mom and my mom's like, Hey, shit, Michael, like that. And like, I was laughing so hard. So my mom doesn't know that I got these tattoos and, uh, and so I've been covering them and like not showing it to her. So tomorrow night I'm going home and my girlfriend's going to film my mom's reaction to it. So if the reaction, she's going to be like, Hey, shit, Marcus, you're 41 years old.
Why are you getting tattoos? It's going to be fucking awesome, dude. Nice. Unaffected. I think it's funny. Uh, we're going to get some film of it. I'll show it to you if it's, if it's really funny, but I'm, I'm expecting a really good reaction out of her. Cause she's adorable when she gets pissed off. So I'm really looking forward to it. I'm going to peel it off and be like, mom, check it out. She'd be like, what are those real? I'll be like, yeah. She'll be like, Hey, that would be funny, man.
That's, that's going to be awesome. Yeah. On that note, do you want to, do you want to wrap it up? Wrap it up, dude.
